Aside from its all-star cast of voice actors, there’s a lot to keep fans on their feet in anticipation of Star Ocean: Second Evolution‘s release. Square Enix and Tri-Ace‘s remake of the cult hit that earned a decent following shows promise on the Sony PlayStation Portable, and we’ve got a trailer to prove it. Hit that jump to see what we’re talking about!
It’s been a while since Square Enix and Tri-Ace started teasing us on Star Ocean: Second Evolution, and we finally get a better glimpse of the classic action RPG’s rebirth on the Sony PlayStation Portable. Fans won’t be disappointed, since Crawd (or Claude if you prefer his western name) and Rena have been faithfully recreated even if they somehow seem younger, and Dias looks as deadly as ever.
From what we can tell after seeing Star Ocean: Second Evolution‘s debut trailer gameplay snippets and after keeping tabs on the remake, it’s easy to say that the game on the Sony PSP won’t fall short of glorifying its original iteration which reportedly sold over a million copies worldwide. The first Star Ocean‘s remake, Star Ocean: First Departure, managed to get over 100,000 copies off shelves during its launch week, so we’re eager to see how its sequel will fare.
For now, we’ll leave Star Ocean: Second Evolution‘s first trailer below and let you decide if you want to import it for your PSP when the game launches in Japan this April 2.
