Star Trek Online console versions canned
It turns out that Star Trek Online won’t be boldly going to the console front. Developer Crytic Studios has confirmed that the MMO’s console versions have been scrapped. The problem lies not with the studio’s tech, apparently, but on the business side of things.

“It’s pretty much in the same boat as the [Champions Online] console version right now,” executive producer Craig Zinkievich told Videogamer. “It’s something we can readily do in terms of technology. We’ve had it up and running on certain consoles, and had plans and designs in order to take advantage of those platforms.
“But as it stands right now it’s a little difficult to make that final leap on the business side of things. So, currently, just like Champions, the console version of Star Trek Online is on the back burner.”
The original announcement for Star Trek Online from way back in 2008 had it pegged for release on PC and next-gen consoles.
