Welcome to the world of Char, whose wide-open volcanic scenery is a sight to behold for all would-be tourists and Terran Space Marines. Populated with over 10 billion Zerg life forms, Char is the seat of one of the major strongholds for the alien hive mind.

The planet Char can probably best be remembered as the setting where Sarah Kerrigan (the Zerg Queen of Blades) emerged victorious after an apocalyptic battle between the Terrans, the Overmind cerebrates and the Protoss. This took place in the final expansion pack of the original StarCraft title, StarCraft: Brood War.
Since that time, the Zerg have been strangely quiescent. However, with the onset of the upcoming sequel, perhaps we shall hear more about Kerrigan and her fellow broodmates in future updates regarding the game.
