StarCraft Q&A Batch 23: on skill spamming, unit replacing
The latest batch of Blizzard Entertainment’s StarCraft II Q&A is up, and tells us more about how the development is going. As things stand, special abilities can be spammed and units we’ve seen before may change their looks in the final product. Details at the full article, so hit that jump!
Despite the recent buzz about Activision and Blizzard Entertainment’s parent company Vivendi Games’ merge, everything seems normal at StarCraft II‘s official forums. According to Blizzard RTS Community Manager Karune, the team behind StarCraft II has no change of plans and development continues. The latest batch of Q&A, #23, shed some light on tiny details regarding the much anticipated title from Blizzard.
Most notable in this set of questions would have to be the fact that “currently, there is no restriction to when you can follow up a special ability with another, as long as there are available energy points.” Considering new skills will be introduced in StarCraft‘s sequel, it’s interesting how balance can be maintained if specials can be spammed.
Another nice factoid is Karune’s comment that went : “What you have seen of the Protoss and Terran factions are in no way finished and more new units will be introduced, as well as the likeliness of current units being replaced. ” We don’t have any complaints, but marines could look better. Putting more size on the mothership also sounds like a good idea.
