Last updated 7 hours agoIn a possible slowest speed nautical accident ever, Steve Jobs yacht hit another billionaire vessel. On Wednesday, two luxury yachts collided off the coast of Naples in Italy. Venus, the luxury yacht built for Steve Jobs, collided with that of Ricardo Salinas Pliego. Salinas posted a video on Instagram of Venus drifting towards and into the side Lady Moura, a super-sized yacht of his own. Forbes reports that the front bow of Venus made contact with the other vessel side-on while traveling at a luxuriously low speed. Venus was seen to bounce backwards and drift away from Lady Moura after the collision. The video appears to show that the crew of Venus did not intervene quickly enough to prevent the collision, even though Salinas’ crew used horns and yelled at the opposing team. Salinas said in the video, “I’d like to know what they were doing because they didn’t notice a yacht as large as mine.” “You can see that the world is full of idiots.” Salinas was not on the Lady Moura when the 344-foot yacht was anchored. Laurene Powell Jobs was not aboard Venus. Salinas claims that his boat has a “big scratch”. While neither boat was seriously damaged by the impact at glacial speed, the impact did cause some minor damage. The scratch on the boat will cost a lot of money to repair, since it was made for a person worth $10 billion. Salinas’ request was made in a seemingly joking manner. He asked his followers to purchase Apple products through the Group Elektra retailer that he owns so that Powell Jobs could cover the cost of the damage. Powell Jobs’ $14.4 billion worth of assets could likely afford to pay for the repairs without the need for retail assistance, if insurance does not cover the cost.
