Stranglehold Director, Video Interview And New Footage.

A new video interview of the Midway developed next generation third person actioner, Stranglehold has just popped up on IGN. They sit down and chat with Brian Eddy, the games director to talk about this spiritual successor to the John Woo directed Chow Yun Fat vehicle, Hard Boiled. It’s a surprisingly in depth interview that covers the various environments that we can expect to play in, as well as gameplay mechanics such as the Max Payne style slow mo (shun) gunfights, vehicular combat, and multiplayer. It also helps that the interview includes a healthy amount of gameplay footage as well as some cool as heck clips from the movie Hard Boiled for comparison. The game footage looks amazing, with Tequila (Yun Fat’s character) sliding over table tops, swinging from chandeliers, running up banisters, all at the same time there’s chunks of wall and shards of glass just flying all over the place. I was a little skeptical upon the trailers initial release but this interview has certainly piqued my interest.

(And yes, there are doves)
