Stray Bullet Games working on an MMORPG for Nintendo Wii
How would you feel if we tell you that the Nintendo Wii will soon have its very own MMORPG courtesy of the development studio behind the game Shadowbane.
Pretty exciting, huh? We just learned that this may soon become a reality after Stray Bullet Games has announced the need for a senior programmer. More on this after the jump!
It is not uncommon for massively multiplayer online role-playing games to have a console version as well. This is especially true for the Xbox 360 and will also become a reality for the PlayStation 3. But how about the Wii?
Well, it seems that Nintendo has not overlooked the MMORPG genre as we just learned that the studio Stray Bullet Games has been commissioned to create one for the Wii.
The company is known primarily for the game Shadowbane. Anyway, a senior programmer job listing for Stray Bullet Games has appeared over at Gamasutra’s JobSeeker Message page.
The studio was careful not to give away any details about the game except for these employee requirements:
- Program, debug, and fine-tune game systems and features
- Work closely with the project team to implement the game vision
- Ensure technical quality of game code through testing and iteration
- Create and maintain technical documentation on game systems
- Contribute ideas to improve quality and fun
What do you think about an MMORPG for the Nintendo Wii? Personally, this writer believes that it’s going to be exciting especially with the tremendous number of users the Wii is currently enjoying.
At any rate, just keep checking back here at QJ.NET in case we pick up some more updates regarding this.
