Stream MP3 music on your Wii with Wiisic v0.80

Wiisic was created by Michael Dietmayr - Image 1Did you know that you can stream music using your Nintendo Wii? Well, if you don’t but want to, this application is just what you are looking for!

Homebrew developer Max Maurer has created a software tool called Wiisic that lets you stream music using your Wii. To run it, all you need are the Wii console’s Opera Browser and Java installed on your PC unit.

Wiisic is currently on version 0.80 and a lot have happened since it was released back in January of this year. We’re giving you the full changelog below for v0.80 and other relevant changes to help you get accustomed to Wiisic.

Version History

  • 0.80
    • Since I got my new 16:9 LCD screen last week. I concluded, do work again on Wiisic. I spent the last three days, rewriting the complete player code. Now the whole application should be hopefully “uncrashable”.
    • New feature: Directory navigator. Navigate through all subdirectories of the folder you specified and play the files in there.
    • Complete new player code. Hopefully “uncrashable”.
    • 16:9 white player skin.
  • 0.79
    • Command line interface. For those unix-server freaks, with no graphics at all. Use “java -jar Wiisic.jar -?” for options.
    • I received a new Icon File from cubedman990.
  • 0.78
    • Icon added: The java cup is gone! Wiisic now has it’s on application icon (launch it and look in the upper left corner). Big Thanks goes out to DeadMeat_84, who created it.
    • Network error fixed: Another error on network adaptors should now be fixed. The Mac-Address problem from Version 0.76 reappeared.
  • 0.77
    • Network error fixed: The last fixed created the same problem on unix computers. Advanced IP checking is performed now.
  • 0.76
    • Network error fixed: The correct IP of the selected network device was not used by Wiisic.
    • Network error fixed: Instead of an IP-Address Mac addresses have been displayed on Mac Computers.
