Gouken first appeared in a non-canonical manga adaptation of Street Fighter II back in 1992, but he was later absorbed into the game. In the manga, Gouken was killed by M. Bison, making him the target of vengeance for both Ken and Ryu.

Well, he was brought back to life in Street Fighter IV (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360). He’s a zombie? Nah. But his appearance in the game makes me wonder if it will explore his history with Ryu, Ken, and his brother Akuma.

Gouken will be appearing as a CPU-controlled opponent, like Akuma, but he might be an unlockable as well. He will have the “Forbidden” Shoryuken ability as his hyper move, and the “True” Shoryuken as his ultra combo.
