Street Puzzle Fighter II videos: X, Y, Z gameplay modes
Street Fighter II Turbo characters may have had major makeovers, but Street Puzzle Fighter II untouched is enough to win fans of the long-running franchise. If you don’t remember, it has been confirmed that the classic puzzle spin-off will soon be available on XBL and PSN.
Featuring characters from the Alpha series, Street Puzzle Fighter II is basically a refined block-stacking game in which up to two players can outlast one another. Chibi-sized Street Fighter characters are in the middle, initiating attack animations when players successfully destroy groups of blocks.
The videos below feature three play modes available in the game to mix things up. X-mode is the classic style that the first Street Puzzle Fighter introduced, while Y-mode increases the difficulty by constantly moving the stack up. Z-mode offers an easier way of shaving blocks off, as well as bonus objects that can turn the tide of battle.
