Student arrested for FPS design, makes bail

Lance Timmering, a student from a Stevens county high school, was accused of planning a school massacre by the school’s administrators. The 17-year-old high school student was arrested after the principal found one of the student’s notebooks that detailed designs to shoot up to 30 of his classmates.

But according to Timmering and his parents, the Northport High School student was simply designing his own first-person shooter game and exercising his freedom of speech. According to the report, two teacher’s aides also overheard Timmering talking about his ideas for a shooting game. Although the ideas were alarming, Timmering admitted that he had never thought of putting his ideas into action.

Just late last Monday, Timmering made bail and is now free from jail. Timmering’s parents have claimed that the events and arrests were politically driven, although the school district said that they had to take every potential threat seriously, even if they claimed they had no way of knowing whether or not TimmeringÂ’s ideas were just harmless creativity or an actual plan for another school shooting massacre.
