Student hacks intruder with a samurai after PlayStation, laptops were stolen

The intruder, who was pronounced dead on the scene, had a fatally lacerated upper body and a nearly-severed hand. Initial investigation yields that the man was killed with only one strike of the sword, so the nearly-severed hand must’ve tried to block the sword.
The student, who lives with three other students, heard noises at about 1AM. He went downstairs to check it out, and since they were robbed on a previous occasion, brought a samurai with him. According to the student, he saw that the door to the garage had been broken into, and that was when the intruder attacked him.
That didn’t end pretty, but the police confirm that the guy was guilty of at least breaking and entering, though it wasn’t clear if he was the one who nicked the PlayStation and the laptops.
If you’re curious, it wasn’t mentioned in the report what kind of Sony PlayStation was stolen, but it was certainly enough to make the student pull a Battousai. Police have released the student, and the city state attorney’s office has yet to determine if they’re pressing charges.
