Super Mario Bros 2.5D: Mario in 3D for your PC
Super Mario 2.5D is a remake of the classic Super Mario Brothers in NES for your PC. If you’re wondering how a 2D game was made into 3D, the answer is quite simple: Add depth.
Gameplay is pretty much the same as the original version of the game – defeat Bowser in every level and save Princess Peach. But before facing the boss, you’d have to go through his minions first. Most of the enemies, like the Goombas (mushrooms) and the Koopas (turtles), can be defeated by jumping on them.
Gather Power Ups by going underneath a box and hitting it with your head. Power Ups include a mushroom and Power Flower, that allows you to shoot fireballs. Use pipes to uncover secret bonus rooms or warp you into the next level. Some pipes have piranhas coming our them. Dispose of them using Power Flower or a Koopa shell. At the end of most levels there’s a flag pole. The higher you hit the flagpole the more bonus points you’re going to get.
Press the corresponding arrow keys to move left and right. The up arrow key enables Mario to jump. If you want to make him jump higher, just hold the up arrow key. If you want to change the camera angle, press W, A, S or D. If you’d like to have a closer look, press R to zoom in while pressing F does the opposite.
If you ever get tired of playing The New Super Mario Bros in your DS, or just want to stroll down Super Mario Bros. memory lane, then you might want to give this sweet remake a try.
