Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz Features Two New Characters
AiAi, MeeMee, GonGon, and Baby welcome two new characters in the Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz adventure. Sega has just announced the addition of Yanyan, a young, vivacious female monkey, and Doctor, an older monkey with a past steeped in mystery due to his acute case of amnesia.
Scott A. Steinberg, Sega’s VP of of Marketing said that “the addition of two new characters and the advent of different skill-sets for all the characters has expanded the gameplay of the franchise for its debut on the Wii.” Cool enough, and we agree that “the more, the merrier”. For the Super Monkey Ball franchise, this signals another “first”, as now each character will have strengths and weaknesses in categories such as acceleration, speed, and jumping ability. In this case, even the size of the monkey ball and its weight will play a role in a character’s performance in the game.
Additionally, Super Monkey Ball will also feature 50 new Party Games, which have been creatively designed to take advantage of the Wii remote in a multitude of ways. Expect to get really immersed in a huge library of Party Games here – Ring Toss, Alien Attack, Whack-a-Mole, Fish Catcher, Hammer Throw, Flag Panic, Hovercraft Race, and Monkey Baseball, among just a few.
