Super Smash Bros. Brawl: bop enemies with the golden hammer
With the start of the new week, we start the ball rolling with another update to Nintendo‘s fighting fiesta, Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Seeing it’s just the first day to a new set of updates, they seem to be starting it slow with an item update, namely the golden hammer.
Taken from an obscure NES oldie, Wrecking Crew, the golden hammer makes its power known to any combatant who manages to get in its way. Asides from being more powerful and easier to wield than the standard hammer item, it also has an added bonus. If you’ve played Wrecking Crew, you’ll probably know what I mean. If you rapidly tap the button to swing the hammer, you can actually float in midair as long as you keep mashing.
However, the golden hammer isn’t without its little quirks. Just like the normal hammer is occasionally known to lose its head in a fight, the golden hammer can leave you a little short-changed as well. Instead of giving your opponent a massive concussion, at times it’s been known to just go squeak and leave your opponent laughing at your pathetic attack.
That’s it for today’s update, just keep yourselves tuned for tomorrow when we’ll have an all new update for the game.
