Previously, we’ve seen how the Spectator mode can help you pick up some useful fighting tips from players brawling all over the world. Now, you can get right into the heat of the action by taking on anyone through the Basic Brawl mode available in the game.

Looking for a match through Nintendo’s Wi-Fi Connection isn’t as hard as you might think. After choosing the Basic Brawl mode, just choose a character and wait for the network to look for suitable match-ups for you – no need to make a room or wait in a messy lobby full of random people. Players are then free to cast a vote which stage they want to duke it out.

What’s more, the developers from Sora Ltd. have added a very convenient feature to take care of opponents who get disconnected before the match starts. Instead of nixing the game because of your opponent’s faulty connections, the CPU instead takes over any players who drop out before the fight. It definitely beats having to search for a new set of combatants all over again.

The only downside to this neat online multi-player mode is if one of your opponents chooses a character you haven’t unlocked yet, you might get spoiled beforehand. As a friendly tip, the developers have suggested that you try finishing the game’s Adventure Mode and unlock all the hidden characters before moving onto the Basic Brawl mode.
