Where Mario goes, you can be sure that Luigi isn’t too far behind. The taller (and greener) pair of this duo has just been announced as another unlockable character for Nintendo’s  Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii console.

Like Mario, Luigi will be packing some serious heat into the fray, with moves such as the Green Missile, Super Jump Punch, and the Negative Zone.  The Super Jump Punch is Luigi’s Up Special Move.

While it’s a little on the weak side when catching enemies mid-air, the same can’t be said when you hit your target on the ground. A ground hit will send your opponent skyward in a flaming heap, making this attack exceptionally nasty when coming out of an evasive roll or dash.

The Green Missile is his Special Move. Its damage and range are dependent on how long you hold down on the special move button. Keep an eye out for the occasion when the attack activates explosively – this guarantees you increased power and range irregardless of how long you charged the attack.

Negative Zone is Luigi’s Final Smash attack. You’ll know this is triggered when a green hue floods the screen, and a new stage song is played. Characters who step into the Negative Zone will be afflicted with all sorts of negative stats, including loss in attack power, decreased movement speeds, and sleep effects.

To get Luigi in your roster, you’ll need to do one of three things: The first method will require you to play through 22 brawl matches. The second method requires you to clear classic mode with no continues.

The third mode will require you to invite Luigi to join your party in Subspace Emissary mode. Keep note that the first two methods will require you to fight Luigi in a brawl match before you get him.

We’ve also posted several screenshots here of Luigi’s appearance in SSBB, which should give you an idea of how his moves look.
