Super Smash Bros. Brawl update: R.O.B.’s moves and techniques
How many of you remember an old accessory named the Robotic Operating Buddy for the now-defunct Nintendo Entertainment System? If you do, you may want to play as that classic accessory in Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Find out how you can R.O.B. your opponent of victory in the full article after the jump.
Now again, you’ll come across a character in a video game who stands out in a way. R.O.B. – aka Robotic Operating Buddy – from Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Brawl (SSBB) distinguishes itself from the rest of the cast. How so? It appears to be the only completely inorganic SSBB fighter not based on a video game or a video game character.
As you can see from the pictures below, R.O.B. uses its mechanical muscle to do away with opponents. The Robo Beam, Arm Rotor, Robo Burner, Gyro, and Diffusion beam make up its repertoire of attacks and special techniques.
To unlock R.O.B., SSBB players must first meet the following requirements:
- Play through 16o brawls
- Get 250 different trophies
- Get it to join your party in the Subspace Emissary
- With the exception of Number 3 above, face R.O.B. in a brawl and defeat it after satisfying all the previous conditions.
Gone are the days when R.O.B. only functioned as an accessory for two Nintendo Entertainment System games. With the variety of beam and mechanical weapons at its disposal, maybe R.O.B. should be renamed as the Robotic Owning Brawler.
