Super Smash Bros. Brawl update: tiny Toon Link makes an appearance
Super Smash Bros. Brawl players who are tired of playing all those matches with Twilight Princess Link will definitely get a kick out his more cartoonish counterpart. Toon Link struts his stuff in today’s update courtesy of the Smash Bros. DOJO!! Read more about it in the full article.
After seeing Twilight Princess Link strut his stuff in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, we finally get to see his more diminutive incarnation face off against the other contenders in Nintendo’s premiere fighting game.
Anyone who’s played as the regular Link will have to adjust to a couple of changes with his more cartoonish counterpart. Aside from the obvious differences in height, Toon Link is generally lighter and faster. Unfortunately, this also means he had to sacrifice a little power in exchange for his more agile moves.
The special moves of both Links are quite similar as well, with a couple of marked differences. Toon Link’s weapon attacks tend to be more versatile and more maneuverable compared to his senior’s. Let’s also not forget Link’s patented Triforce Slash Final Smash packed in a more bite-sized version.
To unlock Toon Link, you can either play out 400 brawl fights or simply clear the Classic mode after beating The Subspace Emissary. Alternately, you can also enter the hidden door in the Forest after beating the game’s single player adventure mode. Whichever condition you fulfill, you’ll have to face off against Toon Link in a one-on-one brawl before you can permanently acquire him.
Anyway, that’s it for today’s Brawl update. Don’t forget to keep coming back to this space for your daily fix of Super Smash Bros. Brawl tidbits.
