Via PS3 Fanboy, we’ve just learned that the European version of Housemarque‘s Super Stardust HD has already been updated to v2.02. Apparently, the game hasn’t been updated yet in other territories, so folks outside Europe may have to wait a while. Still, that doesn’t mean we can’t talk about these new changes, right?
This new version apparently brings us some interesting tweaks all around. First off, there’s now support for the rumble function, which means you can finally feel the explosions as they rock your hands (if you have a rumble controller, that is).
Second, there’s the addition of an online store section in-game. There’s a “Coming Soon” notice about a single and multi-player expansion, but not much is known about that.
Third, the High Score section has been given a big update, as the enhanced section now shows the score, highest rank, session time, and the time of a score’s submission. PS3 Fanboy also notes that with the game stats section they’ve put up, “you can keep a scarily accurate tally of how long you’ve played, how many of each enemy you’ve killed and how many times you’ve completed each level.”
Lastly, there’s now support for custom soundtracks, which means you can now play the game while listening to your favorite songs. As long as you have some music on your PS3’s hard drive, you can edit which track plays for a given level from within the game.
All in all, it’s a nice update that brings a ton of added functionality that Super Stardust HD lovers will definitely enjoy.
