Super Street Fighter IV is still a week away from its release but Capcom is also ready prepping for a DLC of the game. Announced at last week’s Captivate event, the “Tournament Mode” DLC will allows you to compete online in single-elimination tournaments with either 4 or 8-person brackets. According to Capcom:

Tournament Mode lets you go head-to-head in single-elimination tournaments with either 4 or 8-person brackets. If you win, you advance toward the title match. If you lose, feel free to join a new tourney.

You can watch the tournament match in progress while you’re waiting your turn, and discuss the match with the other competitors live. You can also use SSFIV’s recording functions to record any tournament matches you’re watching for replay later (and the save is cool–you can hit the button at any time during a round, and it will save the whole thing!).

Beyond that, there will also be special unique belts that Capcom makes available from time to time. If you win these special tournaments, you’ll receive a totally unique online title that’s yours exclusively–at least until the next special tournament, where you have to defend the title or lose it to a new competitor!

The “Tournament Mode” DLC is scheduled to arrive on June 15th for free. The game will be released on April 27, 2010 for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
