Suzumiya Haruhi no Yakusoku details, screens
As if the Sony PlayStation Portable needs something else to boost sales, Namco Bandai‘s Suzumiya Haruhi no Yakusoku is coming in with new details and screens. We all know that Japan loves ’em sim games based on popular anime, so this one is almost destined to succeed.
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yakusoku will play like a typical high school simulator, following an adventure-filled story with disarming plot twists. This time, some parts of North High is in rubble for reasons you have to find out. We’re not certain if this is related to the original storyline, but it sure sounds like Haruhi will be happy now that a mystery is at hand.
Minigames like volleyball and The Day of Sagitarrius III (don’t ask what happened to its previous installments, there aren’t any) will be providing extra lighthearted fun. Some songs from the anime are going to be included, though we’re yet to confirm the actual tracklist for the game.
December 20th marks Suzumiya Haruhi no Yakusoku‘s release in Japan. Limited edition bundles will come with a figure of Haruhi in a bikini, which probably means we’ll see non-gamer otaku lined up to grab a PSP for the game on launch day.
Sim games haven’t really experienced much success in the west, but we sure hope this one gets an English version in any form. For now, we’ll leave you with these screens and art from the game.
