Sweet new update to Wii’s software pages

Wii on the Web!

It’s getting closer to launch time, folks, and you know what that means. It’s time for another lovely edition of “As the Wii Turns…”

When we last left Nintendo and his console, they were firmly entrenched in a battle with a powerful paper company over the rights to use Wii.com. In a masterful stroke, Nintendo managed to convince the Weyerhauser company to give up their rights to the URL, allowing Nintendo to fashion a website for its beloved Wii.

This week leads up to another climactic event for the US Wii website, as Nintendo and Wii announce a new addition to their happy little family: the update to their software page. In fact, call it eight software updates. As you can see from the picture above, these eight bundles of joy are set up for further exploration, though Wii Sports is the only one that has additional content, consisting of multiple videos of people trying out the game and using the Wiimote.

What does the future hold for Nintendo and Wii? A launch in November, to be sure, but beyond that, we cannot really tell. Keep checking QJ for future episodes of “As the Wii Turns”, and expect the future of these two lovers to be decided in the coming months.
