Swords, Zombies, and Underwear in Oneechanbara X

One good formula for video game success has always been “female lead character + evil scary monsters.” Taking it one step further is Oneechanbara X, an upcoming Xbox 360 title that features a very scantily clad (and maybe illegal, judging from the mag scans) girl bobbing and weaving between hordes of the undead. Sounds cool, huh? And she’s wearing a cowboy hat too. And a pink fluffy bra.

While the images of the lead character are pretty impressive, I do find it a bit off-putting that she wears a fluffy bra as well as a cowboy hat. Oh well, adds to the overall Lolita factor of the character, I guess. Must also work as a distracting technique against the zombie dudes. The rendering of the lead character looks pretty good but the backgrounds look a bit flat and boring. The zombie dudes look too polygonal too. Must be some kind of subtle comment on how most people tend to dehumanize and generalize members of both genders (males=blocky, females=curvy). Or I could just be suffering from Lolita-overload sight disorder.

Check out the pictures below. Fanboys are free to drool.
