Tabula Rasa: screenshots, info on character classes
Four new screenshots have been released for NCSoft‘s upcoming MMORPG, Tabula Rasa. The screenshots show four hostile, if not terrifyingly beautiful, worlds with two that might come from the ravaged world of humans.
Now for those of you who remember, the Tabula Rasa class system is special in its own way because it allows you to change classes without going all the way back to the very beginning – especially when you’re a scared run-for-your-life recruit battling aliens that can crush you with a look.
There are four tiers of classes, each branch splitting into two. Your character will ultimately land in one of eight classes in Tier 4: Grenadier, Guardian, Sniper, Spy, Demolitionist, Engineer, Medic or Exobiologist. The Sniper and Spy class is still under wraps so nothing’s final on them yet.
Here’s a brief overview of each final class:
- Grenadier: Specializes in concussion attacks and proficiency in Propellant weapons (i.e., Flamethrowers!)
- Guardian: A walking piece of armor. Defense is the name of the game. Stalves, the most powerful close combat weapon, will be their specialty.
- Demolitionist: In a word: BOOM!
- Engineer: A boon to groups as engineers will have bonuses in armor recharge and damage resistance. Can assemble turrets and decoy turrets and create wormholes for teleportation.
- Medic: As any MMORPG testifies, a healer is always a necessity.
- Exobiologist: Think of this class as the creepy science counterpart of the necromancer. Which makes it more disturbing in a way.
Tabula Rasa will be released on October 2, less than two months from now. Until then you can ponder on what class you think will be most effective in the fight against the Bane. To read more on the classes, check out the link after the jump!
