Now here’s something that would brighten up fans of rhythm games. According to their latest announcement, Namco Bandai‘s popular Taiko no Tatsujin (Taiko Drum Master in the US) series will land on the Nintendo Wii.
Waggling the Wiimote and nunchuk to beat to the music along with cute Taiko drums and dancing turtles, squids, and muscular macho dogs? We’re sold.
Not much is known about this new Taiko no Tatsujin for the Wii, but we’re hoping that the new game will still have its successful elements intact, such as the wide selection and and variety of music (from commercial jingles, the ABC song, the Wedding March medley, and Ken Hirai’s Pop Star), dancing mascots, and overall cuteness.
The Wii Taiko no Tatsujin is not the only game that’s hitting production. Namco Bandai also announced that there is a third Tales game in the works for the Nintendo DS, making it the third game in the series for the Nintendo handheld, next to Tales of the Tempest and Tales of Innocence.
Like Taiko no Tatsujin, details about this game are not not available at this point, but you can count on us to sniff them out.
