Take a Tour of Insomniac and Resistance: Fall of Man

It’s not exactly the scenic route through England, but EGM editor Bryan Intihar toured Insomniac Studios to get a glimpse at the development behind their PS3 shooter Resistance: Fall of Man. And along the way, they also toured Chimera-infested England in preview shots of the game in action.

In between those clips of Hale opening a can of Ranger whoop-a** on various Chimera targets, the Insomniac people give various insights on the creation and development of Resistance, including:

  • post-E3 reflections,
  • character design and plot development,
  • single and multiplayer design – hey, wait, was that a split-screen multiplayer at around five minutes into the video?
  • their opinions on other console FPS titles (we won’t name any names, we’ll let them do the talking)
  • (Even more split-screen multiplayer!)
  • and their confidence in the game’s eventual success come release day.

A couple of warnings before you hit Play. (1) It’s a long video by most standards, almost ten minutes of staring at that screen. You may want to grab a snack before starting. And (2) do watch out for language. Someone forgt to turn on the auto-bleeper.
