Take-Two: GTA IV episodic content exclusive for Xbox 360, LA Noire coming to next-gen

Take-Two - Image 1GamesIndustry.biz reports that a spokesperson for Take-Two Interactive confirmed that “the Grand Theft Auto IV episodic content is exclusive to Xbox 360,” and hinted on the host platform of the upcoming title LA Noire.

Rumors of episodic content exclusivity circulated right after the publisher’s financial report after the second fiscal quarter of 2007. According to the Take-Two spokesperson, the episodic content package will be available to users in fiscal 2008. That means march of next year and beyond to the uninitiated.

The spokesperson also said that LA Noire is in the works and is being designed for “next-generation systems.” That makes it almost safe to assume that the game will be in the Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PlayStation 3 as the case is with GTA IV.

LA Noire is an open-ended murder-solving game set in a 1940’s backdrop with jazz and drug themes swirling to create the detective movie feel of the era. Even the animation and coloring style of the visuals have been contoured to fit the game and create the most realistic ambiance possible.
