Take-Two’s The Darkness gets banned in Singapore
Singaporean gamers may want to let out their collective groan of frustration now. Local Singaporean censorship has deemed The Darkness as being too violent, and has banned the game from being sold locally. The news came from 2K Games‘ own games distributor, New Era, and this bit of information cannot be pegged as mere rumor.
Grand Theft Auto 4 may be prohibited from the city-state’s shores as well, similar to GTA: San Andreas. There are also rumors of Bioshock getting banned as well for having “excessive violence”.
This will count as yet another hit for game developer Take-Two Interactive. Will another country reject any of the company’s upcoming games as well? If so, how well will Take-Two cope with its seemingly unending crisis? Only time will tell.
