Tale in the Desert III Beta Goes Live

eGenesis has released a beta version of its Egyptian-Themed A Tale In The Desert III today.

This most recent version is an attempt to find a balance regarding the pace of the game. The first version was almost frenetic. Players could unlock their own technologies, so ATITD I became a race to see who could open the most regions, learn the most skills, and build the most structures. Players burned out and often left the game.

The second version slowed things a bit. Although too quick for some, a great many players thought it was too slow, and quit the game in frustration. This most recent version kicks it back up to a faster pace. Player-unlockable content has been expanded; this beta release will eventually have a total of 28 tests and 7 initiations unlockable.

The current plan is to have two beta sessions. The first one will be restricted to experienced players, and will go on for about one week. The second session – about three weeks – will be open to all. The developers at eGenesis will be looking to get a great deal of player feedback during the second session, and will be making changes accordingly.

While the beta testing goes forward, ATITD 2 is expected to continue uninterrupted.
