Tales of VS battle system videos explained
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. If so, I wonder how much three videos would say. That’s what we have today, explaining the battle system of Namco Bandai‘s Tales of VS. If those analogies hold, then you’re just about to get one hell of a video game lesson in under two minutes.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. If so, I wonder how much three videos would say. That’s what we have today, explaining the battle system of Namco Bandai‘s Tales of VS. If those analogies hold, then you’re just about to get one hell of a video game lesson in under two minutes.
In this first vid, we see the movements that you can perform around the environment. Just like in the Naruto fighters on the PS2, Tales of VS has two parallel “paths” in which you can engage your foe and interchange at any time. There also platforms and panels that you can jump on to dodge attacks, prepare for your own, or simply annoy your enemy.
This next one shows the different gameplay elements present in each stage. The desert will blow you back with sandstorms, the canyons will flatten you with falling rocks, while some will simply have powerups or restorative pickups.
Then finally, the fighting. This is it – this is how you’ll get it on in Tales of VS. Judging by the four-player free-for-all brawl, splash damagers and disablers will have lots of fun in the game.
So that’s that. I was looking forward to getting more characters confirmed, but this is good too. Maybe next time.
