Tank Beat Rolling Onto The DS

I love my tank.

Videogames featuring tanks have been around for almost as long as videogames have existed, so we think pretty much no one will be surprised to know that a new tank-centric game’s headed for the Nintendo DS.

Milestone‘s Tank Beat lets DS owners hop into the tank of their dreams, choosing from a plethora of real-life tanks. This sure ain’t Battle City anymore, guys. For one thing, the main focus for the game is the story mode, in which players clear missions to progress. Playing well will not only result in new tanks to cruise around in; it will also affect how the story unfolds.

Tank Beat will also have a trial mode that lets players replay individual missions from the story mode, as well as special stand-alone missions. The game also supports local wireless and Wi-Fi connectivity for head-to-head tank battles against other players.

Tank Beat is scheduled for release in Japan this November.
