Infectus 2 - Image 1Those who feel the need to install modchips in their Xbox 360 consoles – despite the fact that it obviously violates the law AND may get you completely banned from Xbox Live – may want to check this out. The newest version of the Team InFeCtuS is about to launch the newest incarnation of their InFeCtuS modchip, InFeCtuS2.

Firmware for InFeCtuS2 can be uploaded and installed into InFeCtuS1 modchips by way of manually installing the LEDs. Team InFeCtuS will release tutorials on how to do so in the near future.

The targetted launch date of InFeCtuS2 is on December 2, but the team will try to yank the launch onto an earlier date. They already opened preorders for the modchip, if you are interested in getting one yourself.

InFeCtuS2 features an external PCB connected to the main modchip via a flat cable. This external PCB also has a mini USB connector with two micro switches for bank selection, and also has LED indicators.

Once again, do be warned: not only is this not recommended, this may also get you completely banhammered away from Xbox Live – which will totally ruin most part of the fun of owning an Xbox 360.
