Team Xecuter’s XHM Modchip: Preliminary Details

Team Xecuter

Looks like Team Xecuter‘s really dishing out the goods on their new project. Earlier, we mentioned their plans to release a 360 modchip made by hobbyists for hobbyists, called the XHM. This homebrew modchip project would allow the accumulated talent of hobbyists to develop and tweak the chip for the community’s benefit.

The information page and full release is still being developed as of this writing, but they have released some preliminary details on the project.

First is the PIC they’re using for the modchip. They’ve chosen the Ubicom SX series for their purposes because of its relative prominence in the community. The series is not only cheap and fast, but also well-documented and understood by most programmers.

Second, they’ve also worked on making the code simple. They’ve mentioned that the language used is easy and only requires around 30 lines of code.

Lastly, there is the issue of a release date and, thankfully, we don’t have to wait long. They hope to release all the important details tomorrow, so it should be pretty interesting to see what they’ve pulled off.

In the meantime, if you’re a programmer or modder and interested in the XHM, check out Team Xecuter‘s development forums.
