Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection E3 Trailer

JinPerhaps one of the most successful PVP-themed game in the lines of Street Fighter, Tekken has always provided gamers with challenging gameplay, wide array of combos, rich storylines, and unique visuals. It appears that its latest installment in the PSP, Tekken 5:Dark Resurrection, won’t veer away from the legacy its predecessors has set.

Judging from the game’s trailer at E3, Tekken aficionados (and greenhorns as well) will definitely be having goosebumps over this. Hey, I’m no hype-builder, just saying what I felt right after watching it. The trailer shows us the Arcade Intro for Dark Resurrection followed by the introduction of the two new characters, Lili and Dragonuv, and returning character, Armor King. The trailer then goes onto tell us that there are 35 characters included in the game.

After giving us a slight notion of the upcoming installment’s storyline (oh my, my imagination is running wild with the possible angles), the trailer went on to display what to expect with the personality and fighting skills of the new characters. The ‘drama’ of Jin and the rest of Tekken figures were also briefly touched.

It also gave us a glimpse of the game’s modes (both the original and the newer ones). Next comes the Network option of going head to head against others in Ad Hoc mode. There is also an option to download available ghost content of players around the world along with a network ranking. Just like the original Tekken 5 for the PS2, the character customizations are back with more items and interchangeable clothing color changes.

The trailer then ends revealing the title’s release date on July 6, 2006 for Japan, and Summer of 2006 for America.
