Tekken 6: PS3, 360 console-specific characters being considered
Uh oh. Talk about a SoulCal4 redux. Apparently, Namco Bandai has thoughts of bringing console-specific characters separately for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Tekken 6. Dun dun dunnnn.

Don’t worry, nothing’s final yet. The Tekken 6 team is still busy with the Arcade version of Bloodline Rebellion, for now that’s their sole focus and that “there are no concrete plans [for the console versions] at the moment.”
Meanwhile, when asked about exclusive characters for the PS3 and Xbox 360, game director Katsuhiro Harada has this to say to CVG:
Of course we would like to have something – as far as downloadable content goes – specific to platform. However on the other hand it is quite difficult to get Microsoft and Sony to sign off on having differences between the platforms. It is something we’re considering, but it is pretty difficult.
Of course, even if Namco Bandai did follow the SoulCalibur IV system to the letter, there wouldn’t be much of a problem. We all know what happened to Vader and Yoda: they eventually jumped ship as DLC for the other platform. (A big nay for microtransactions though! Arrr.)
As an update to Tekken 6, Namco Bandai’s Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion is to be released for the Arcade this December, with a PS3 and Xbox 360 release to follow next year.
