Tennis Tourney, the Wii way, in Melbourne

Wii Tennis

For tennis fans and aficionados, you all know by now that the Australian Open is kicking off this January 15, and by the 28th, we’ll know who are the champions of the first of the world’s four Grand Slam tennis tournaments. Well, apparently, the Australian Open isn’t the only tennis event in Melbourne this January.

Nintendo, together with Myer, would like to challenge you to a tennis match…A Wii Tennis match that is. Aussies are given the chance to play against two of the more famous Australian tennis champions – Pat Cash and Mark Woodforde. Sigh, no Lleyton Hewitt for the female fans.

Anyhow, to earn your right to play against these two Aussie champs, you’d have to qualify first. From 12 p.m.- 2 p.m., January 15- 18 at Myer Melbourne City (Ground Floor, Lonsdale Street entrance), you can compete against other opponents in Wii Sports‘ Wii Tennis. Obviously, the player that wins the most games during the two hour session will go into the finals on January 19 to play against Cash and Woodforde. And you can’t bring your own Mii, you’d have to select from the available Mii characters.

To those who will be joining, good luck to y’all!
