TestDS v0.6 (also known as DSBoy)
More homebrew goodness coming right at you with the latest updated version of Brunni‘s Game Boy Color emulator for the Nintendo DS, DSBoy version 0.6 (or TestDS). As the name states, this one lets you play the games you loved on the color-blessed version of Nintendo’s legendary handheld, the Game Boy – on your Nintendo DS. And this update fixes quite a few things from its last version, as well as improves all-around compatibility with the GBC’s line-up of titles.
Let’s take a look at DSBoy version 0.6’s changelog (translated via an online language tool):
With the menu
- Correction of the known bugs for Gargoye’ S Quest
- Greater compatibility
- Speed acrue on certain plays up to 20%
Very nice indeed. And for a parting note, Player Advance forums poster omg adds that for those of us who like what Brunni’s doing with DSBoy or TestDS, we should send our feedback to the coders. Certainly not too much to ask, considering that it really helps a lot in improving the program.
