Tetsuya Nomura talks about 2007

Tetsuya Nomura speakingWe say “Tetsuya Nomura“, at least a million heads bolt up. We follow that with “talks to” and you know those heads are locked upright for the next thirty minutes. Then we say “Japanese GeMag magazine, as translated by the German Gamefront.de”, and zomgz, we got more fun with weblation today. Add the attentive audience, and you know we’re in for a roller-coaster ride of crossed “it-said-it-said” interpretations.

Anyway, deep breath, ready for the cold plunge… we may dub 2007 as the “Year of the Nomura” because of five titles Gamefront says GeMag says are on the way from the man: Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix +, the PSP Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, the Blu-Ray Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete (hey, we said titles, not games), Subarashiki Kono Sekai: It’s Wonderful World for the DS, and one other unmentioned title.

The “unmentioned” (or “unmentionable?”) most certainly isn’t either console Fabula Nova Crystallis title, Final Fantasy XIII or Versus XIII, Gamefront speculates with good reason. Even Nomura himself says (well, we think he says) that it’s early days yet for the PS3 hardware. Here’s the Gamefront translation:

He says that he would rausbringen already gladly very early plays for the PlayStation3. But the software development a certain measure of preparation requires. From his view as Director of Final Fantasy Versus XIII is therefore also slow the start with the PS3, which is however unavoidable, since the necessary software is not yet finished.

Rausbringen-huh? At least the latter half was intelligible. But he says that “he wants next year gladly Spielszenen (to Final Fantasy Versus XIII) to sometime show, which actually present also the play system.” Spielszenen? Anyway, we all got what that meant. Will Nomura deliver the substance next year as he hopes? Knee knocks for luck. We want to see, too.

Finally a word on the Wii. “About Nintendo Wii he only very generally says that he would like to think gladly about how one could use the CONTROLLER.” Cute: you may actually use that Wiimote as an actual simulated gunblade, too.
