Texas start-up firm aims to eliminate online gaming lag
Establish by a few Executive MBA students, Bigfoot Networks has announced that it has secured a U.S. $4 million deal, in Series A financing led by Venio Capital Partners, to develop a technology that will reduce and ultimately eliminate game lag and latency problems. They hope to showcase a beta version of the Network Game Accelerator this year at the E3 expo in L.A.
Brian Grigsby, managing partner at Venio Capital Partners stated that, “while Bigfoot Networks is providing a much needed technology solution to online gamers, the makers of online games are experiencing financial losses due to lag as well. Bigfoot Networks has technology we believe can help solve both problems.” Bigfoot has said that this revolutionary product will “…infuse online gaming with blazing speed…” and will eventually, “completely eliminate the dreaded lag monster… We are to online games what 3D video cards are to graphics.”
