TGS 2006 – DOA Xtreme 2 Jet-Ski Trailer
We really wanted a copy of Team Ninja‘s Dead or Alive: Xtreme 2 not only because of its beautiful graphics, but also for its amazingly deep and innovative gameplay features. In fact, we particularly like the feature that allows you to play some of the mini games with only one hand.
Kidding aside, below is a video of the Jet-ski mini game. And after taking some time to look at it, we honestly think that the thing looks like it has more to it than just plain eye-candy.
In the mini-game that oddly feels a lot like Nintendo’s Wave Race “plus plus”, four competitors line up and race. Slalom flags are lined strategically through the course, which earn you Nitros. Right and left trigger help while banking, while the right bumper is for the Nitro. A is for acceleration and left analog steers.
You get two boosts to start with, but you must earn more in the long, two-loop race. There’s an occasional ramp that enables jumps and stunt jump performance. While on the ramp, players press down on the left analog for a back flip, and left-to-right on the analog for a barrel roll.
However, if you want this game for more visual reasons, then by all means you can check out this video over here. No one’s stopping you.
