TGS 2007: attendance shoots up on final day

Tokyo Game Show 2007 - Image 1We reported earlier that compared to last year’s Tokyo Game Show, this year’s TGS had a low attendance count, with only 64,795 attendees on Day Three of the prestigious gaming event.

We couldn’t have been more wrong.

In a surprising turn of events, the final headcount for Day Four of TGS 2007 yielded a total of 193,040 attendees, exceeding the already record-breaking 192,411 count of last year’s TGS event. The first two days of TGS 2007 were exclusive only to the press and those invited, while the third day was opened to the public and had a hesitant crowd rolling in to see the gaming wares, clocking in with a 66,795 headcount.

However, another huge crowd comprised of 66,072 people rushed in on the fourth and last day, making for a total of 193,040 people that broke the existing 192,411 record of TGS 2006.

The gaming industry is indeed growing strong, and we’re all too happy about it.
