TGS 2007: Morikawa confirms new Katamari game for the PS3
With the upcoming release of the Beautiful Katamari for the Xbox 360 slowly drawing near, people are still wondering if it will be exclusive for that one particular console or if Namco Bandai is willing to share the “roll-up” fun the series always has to offer.
In a recent announcement during the Tokyo Game Show, Beautiful Katamari director, Jun Morikawa, has confirmed that Beautiful Katamari won’t be making an appearance on the PS3, however the series will be making its way to the console soon.
This is definitely good news, especially since some people have given up hope on a Katamari game returning to its Playstation roots. The confusion began when previous information on the Katamari website said that Beautiful Katamari was supposedly going to be released for both the PS3 and the Nintendo Wii, as well as the already announced Xbox 360 platform.
No announcement on when it will be released or what the new Katamari title will be, but rest assured the bottom line stays the same: gamers who enjoyed the series will also be able to play them on their PS3s. Also, Morikawa hinted that a Nintendo Wii version is also in the works so no next gen console owner should feel left out in this unique gaming experience.
