TGS 2007: Square Enix reveals Front Mission 2089: Border of Madness for DS
Contrary to popular belief, Front Mission is still getting some love. Square Enix just announced at the Tokyo Game Show 2007 that Front Mission 2089: Border of Madness will grace the Nintendo DS. Bad thing is, we have no idea what it’s going to be like.
Aside from the revelation at TGS ’07, there’s not much info about Front Mission 2089: Border of Madness. According to IGN’s translation of the teaser site Squeenix put up, the text over an artwork of a skull reads, “One year before that conflict, this island was already being targeted.” Which conflict, we do not know. Front Mission 5: Scars of the War touched various parts of the series’ storyline, so it’s possible that the same can happen in this installment.
It’s also feasible that we’re facing a port here, since Square Enix released Front Mission 2089 on mobiles in Japan. We may not know much, but there’s something we can be certain about: our eyes are peeled for any updates on this hot mech title, so watch this space!
