Finally we’ve got some substantial development in the realm of PS3-to-PSP connectivity, and it isn’t just Remote Play either. Via TGS 2008, SCEA‘s announced that Resistance 2 on the PS3 and Resistance: Retribution can be connected with each other.

Linking the two games will give you access to new in-game content as well as a wholly different gaming experience. The whole process starts by infecting your PSP. Yeap, that’s what it’s called.

In the Resistance 2 menu, you get to choose the “Infect your PSP” option (given that your PSP’s already hooked up via USB, of course). Once both systems are linked, you get more content for Retribution: new costume, new side story, new maps, weapons, abilities, oh my!

There’s also the PSP Plus option. This is activated via the Resistance 2 menu as well, and it allows you to play Retribution on your PSP using a Dualshock 3 controller. And yes, that includes vibration support.
