Good news for the PlayStation 3 crowd! Sony Online Entertainment has dispelled rumors that their upcoming spy-shooter MMO The Agency is canceled. The game is still alive and kicking.
The initial rumor started when GameFly said in a letter to a customer that the game was canceled:
We have removed The Agency (canceled) for PlayStation 3 from your GameQ. There are two possible reasons for this removal:
(1) For released titles, we no longer carry the game and do not know if or when we will acquire new copies.
(2) For unreleased titles, the game has been canceled by its publisher.
Following up on the news, PS3 Fanboy contacted SOE‘s Katie Hanson, who said that “Wow. It’s still alive! Where did you see that information? Thanks for the heads up BTW!” That’s that, folks. No news yet on whether the game will support cross-platform play though. This message will self-destruct in 5 seconds.
Or not, whatever.
