The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena to have new 10-plus-hour campaign
According to an update from Starbreeze Studios, Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) will be released in spring, 2009. It will be featuring a new campaign not found in the original game, Escape from Butcher Bay, adding 10 more hours of gametime.

Although Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena is supposed to be a remake of Escape from Butcher Bay, it apparently has enough extra content to a called a proper sequel. The downside: they’re gonna miss their projected 2008 release.
Ah well. It was to be expected, I suppose, since Acti-Bliz dropped them so suddenly.
Besides an additional 10 hours of new content added atop the regular single player campaign, Dark Athena will have new game mechanics and revamped graphics with “full production values.” It seems the additional nine months of development time Starbreeze had with Dark Athena was well spent.
Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena will be released on March 3, 2009 for the PC, the Xbox 360, and the PlayStation 3.
