The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion sells 1.7 million units
The success of Bethesda’s massive role-playing game has left it’s glowing marks again, as Take-Two Interactive today announced more than 1.7 million units of the game have been shipped for Xbox 360 and PC. Take Two’s CEO, Paul Eibeler, feels “very encouraged by the worldwide consumer demand for Oblivion”.
With that, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion easily fills the shoes of it’s already highly successful predecessor, Morrowind, released in 2002 for the Xbox and PC. After Oblivion hit stores on 3/21, it was appreciated by gaming press and fans alike, who praised the game for finally delivering the promised experience: A next-generation, open-ended single-player RPG – child of a dying genre amidst the MMORPG invasion of today.
