The Guild Wars Scribe Update: The Paragon, The Dervish And The Emblems

guild warsThe Guild Wars’ Scribe has sent word that travelers from afar will soon reach the Battle Isles to compete against local residents. The professions of these visitors are still unknown, but a local ferry captain claimed that these voyagers are soldiers belonging to two new professions – the Paragon and the Dervish.

A Paragon makes use of shouts and chants to rally his troops and enhance their combat abilities. If you happen to see a spear-weilding soldier wearing elaborate ornamental armor, chances are, that’s who he is. His armor bears a certain angelic design, befitting the role of a guardian angel of the Elonian people.

Dervishes, on the other hand, appear to be some sort of religious warriors carrying threatening scythes that tear through hordes of enemies in one single swing. They are known to use new forms of magic to further strengthen their attacks. They rely on their wit and reflexes to defend themselves from attacks, discarding the need to wear heavy armor like that of a Warrior. While they have excellent melee abilities, they also have strong ties to the gods – a devotion on par with that of the Monks.

The Scribe also shares information about the guild emblems that he hand-delivered to the Guild Emblemer in Tyria and Cantha. There are several new options being added to the already expansive variety of emblems. One particular emblem features a buck-toothed beast that has a bashing weapon for a tail. This is saying that the new emblems are a bit unorthodox, or just plain bizarre. Many other forms of nature such as trees, plant and flowers appear as part of the emblem design.
