The guns of Vice City

M16 - main image

A big part of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories is the range of guns that will be offered. Besides the missions, map, the cars, motorcycles and other vehicles, the guns will be something that you’ll treasure as you walk the streets of Vice City. After all, you can’t walk around in Vice City without a little reassurance if things go nasty (and in Vice City they often do), right? Here’s a rundown of the guns you will find in VCS, and I warn you, none of the weapons featured here are quiet. If noise-making is your thing then take your pick from this list.
Minigun
Vulcan Mini Gun

Ah, the Mini Gun. It’s an old favourite of GTA fans and will always have a place in our hearts. It’s big, loud and can fire a gazillion bullets a second (almost). The minigun was designed to provide cover fire against insurgents for helicopter crews in Vietnam, but it looks just as peaceful roaming the streets of Vice City in the hands of ex-Marine Victor Vance.

RPGRPG

Here’s another heavy duty army weapon that once you pop you won’t be able to stop! Just like GTA, you won’t be able to put it down. The more knowledgeable amongst you will know that an RPG in military terms means a Rocket Propelled Grenade, or like most people like to call it a Rocket Launcher. With a big rocket-powered shell and great accuracy, this weapon is a favourite for taking down cars and helicopters.

AK47
AK47
The vintage favorite for local thugs, the AK47 has proven itself as one of the best assault weapons in the world. The AK is cheap and cheerful, being very at close range, with an awesome bite that you don’t want to be on the wrong end of. This is probably the best invention to come from Soviet Russia and is available at all good Ammu-Nation stores.

Python
Python
For the connoisseur of pistols, the Python boasts .357 rounds and a powerful shot that will shoot your enemy down in one shot. You don’t need to be a genius to figure out how this one works. Pull the trigger and your enemy doesn’t stand a chance. This is the gun to do wild west-style showdown’s with.

M16

The M16 is widely regarded as the military’s favourite weapon. It isn’t as powerful as the AK47, but it’s lighter, has better accuracy and can fire more bullets than it’s rival. You’ll probably see a lot of these in the hands of military personnel hanging around Fort Baxter in Vice City (check out the picture above this article).
